Connection is a select group of talented dancers chosen through audition to represent Rhythm Dance Center at talent competitions, conventions, and community performances. This elite group of dancers consistently wows audiences with their energetic and stylish routines. A high level of commitment is expected of these dancers to maintain the excellence of Connection. We feel the relationships developed with faculty and peers through dance are unmatched by most sports and disciplines.

Connection Involves:

  • Choosing dance as a priority over other extracurricular activities
  • Attendance to 3 competitions and 1 convention
  • Classes with guest teachers (1-2) at Rhythm Dance Center
  • Tap the Map Workshop at Rhythm - Fall 2024 (required for Tap Company)
  • Attendance to Connection Summer Intensive
  • All Connection boys will participate in GMx - our all-boys hip hop crew
  • Participation in Holiday Show, Company Concert, Year-End Shows

Connection Minimum Class & Performance Requirements:

  • Connection will perform jazz, hip hop & a production number at competition (tap & contemporary if selected for those companies)
  • Connection is required to be at the studio two days per week taking classes in jazz, ballet, and hip hop
  • Weekend rehearsals (when scheduled) are mandatory

Connection Tap Company
We have a tap option for Connection: Mini/Junior and Teen/Senior Connection Tap Company. 

If you wish to be considered for Tap Company, you will be required to tap at the Connection callback. This company will have an additional required weekly tap class that may require coming on an additional day as well as 3 additional weekend rehearsals in the fall (roughly one each in September, October, and November). Results will be posted with all other results. If you are auditioning for Edge or Fusion and are asked to attend a Connection callback, you will be required to tap. As listed in the info above, Tap Company will be required to attend our in-house tap workshop Tap the Map in the Fall of 2024.

Connection Contemporary Company

We have a Contemporary Company option for our Junior, Teen & Senior Connection dancers. If interested in Connection Contemporary Company, you will attend a separate audition (days/times below) once the new Connection Companies have been selected

Junior Connection: Tuesday, May 7 5:30-6:30pm (Annex)

Teen Connection: Monday, May 6 5:30-6:30pm (Annex)

Senior Connection: Monday, May 6 6:30-7:30pm (Annex)

This will require an additional weekly class, additional deposits to cover the costume and entry fees, and potentially additional rehearsal time and time spent at competitions.
