Avery Mason
Dance Instructor & Assistant Instructor
Birthday: October 9
3 Phrases to Describe My Dance Background:
- I started dancing at Roswell City Dance Center when I was just 2 years old, where my parents (Mrs. Beth and Mr. Jeff) were teaching at the time.
- I started dancing here at Rhythm at 5 years old, and then spent the next 14 years as a Rhythm performing company member until I graduated in 2020! You may recognize me as Aurora in Rhythm Year-End Show: “Rhythm Upon A Dream/Screen” !!!
- I graduated from Kennesaw State University 2024 with a Bachelor of the Arts Degree and a concentration in Ballet. Since graduating, I have continued teaching/choreographing at Rhythm, while dancing for Atlanta-based companies Risk & Kitmodus, as well as signing with Forward Talent Agency for Dance.
Rhythm Role: My role at Rhythm has evolved a good bit over the past year & I am thrilled to be working full time this coming season! At Rhythm I serve as a company choreographer for Mini Stars, Mini Edge, Mini-Senior Connection, Teen/Senior Fusion, and Mini/Petite Spotlight, teaching styles Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary. I also teach various technique & acro classes for Edge and Fusion, as well as Studio Program Acro classes. Some extra jobs that involve me behind the scenes include company costuming, Year-End Show character choreography, cleaning company choreography, Edge extra group choreography, and creating some occasional Rhythm social media content!
Years Teaching at Rhythm: This is my 8th season at Rhythm as a faculty member!
Fun Fact: Mrs. Krista was my first teacher at Rhythm in a Kindergarten Jazz/Tap class!
Favorite Rhythm Year-End Show: Whole Rhythm World
When not at Rhythm, I am usually still dancing to some degree, whether it’s class/rehearsals with Kitmodus or other freelance work as a teacher, choreographer, and dancer. I am also signed with Forward as acting and modeling talent, so I will occasionally have extra opportunities through that! When I am living a normal person life...I love things like Pinteresting, eating spaghetti, watching Gossip Girl, yoga/pilates, creating social media content, and spending time with friends and family!
